Mrs. Kelley’s 2nd grade and Mrs. Mahan’s 7-8 grade classes worked collaboratively to honor our Veterans for Thanksgiving. Mrs. Patty Burge, President of Missouri VFW, asked if we could help bring some Thanksgiving cheer to the Veteran’s home in central Missouri. We presented her with our writings, poems, and craft projects for the Veterans to enjoy next week.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our school earned 95% of our APR points this year — the highest score in our area and a distinction achieved by fewer than 5% of schools statewide!

For those who may not know, the Annual Performance Report (APR) is Missouri’s accountability system for schools. It looks at student achievement, growth, attendance, readiness, and school climate to give a clear picture of how well a school is serving its students. Scoring this high means we’re doing an exceptional job in every area that matters for student success.

This achievement didn’t happen by accident. It is the result of:
Dedicated teachers who consistently go above and beyond.
Hard-working students who show up, give their best, and make us proud every day.
A supportive community that believes in our kids and stands behind our school.

The Mincey Benefit was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, helped and attended the benefit Friday evening. The benefit raised $65,787 for the Mincey family. John and Kinsey along with their parents Raymond and Cindy Rasor, "Papa John and Ronda Mincey want to say "Thank You" to everyone who came out, donated and participated in the benefit. They are so grateful and overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the community. The love and kindness that has been poured out simply illustrates the blessings and the strength of our community to help a friend and neighbor. We pray for healing, restoration and cure for Kinsey through her treatment as well as pray for strength and support for the family as they all walk this journey with her.

Reminder: Parent teacher conferences are next week on Tuesday the 21st and Thursday the 23rd. There will be no tutoring on those days next week. Also there will be no school on Friday Oct 24th.

We want to give a huge "Thank You" to everyone who came out on Friday Night to the Junction Hill PTO Fall Carnival. We are so grateful to all of the PTO Volunteers who worked so hard in putting everything together, and to everyone who helped out and donated items for the Fall Carnival. All of the proceeds the PTO raised are invested right back into the classrooms for students and student projects. The PTO was able to raise $3,477. This is so awesome. Thank you again to all who attended, and the night of fun and activities was a huge success.

The October Hornet of the Month Winners are: (Front Row L to R) Lawson Barnett, Persephone Miller, Mark Smith, Oliver Boyles, Maleah Izquierdo, and (Back Row L to R) Matthew Stuart, Riley Stuart, McKinley Franks, Connor Henderson, Jaley Harrill, Lincoln Kelley, Asher Thompson, and Gunner Busbey.

These students were selected by the teachers as exemplifying the ideal qualities of a Junction Hill Hornet. Way to go guys!
