May 7th Board Meeting Summary
Board meeting was called to order at 6 pm by Board President Wes Gunter. Board members in attendance were Wes Gunter, Matthew Franks, Nathan Recktenwald, John Edgeller and Shannon Kimbrough. Board members Shawn Marvin and Liz Bolander were unable to attend.
Visitors and guests were welcomed following with the consent agenda being approved that included the previous meeting minutes, monthly bills, monthly safety report, Annual technology report and health and service report. The monthly financial report was reviewed with discussion of legislative actions for school funding and their effects. The board approved June bills to be paid with a tentative date for the next board meeting in late June to close the fiscal year.
In committee reports Nurse Bird was in attendance for discussion and review of the health services and wellness report. Coach Harrill presented the Extra Curricular Program Report and his presentation of professional development that he attended. Mrs. Tombley was in attendance to present the Annual Professional Development Committee report followed by discussion for any questions.
In new business Mrs. Kimbrough presented a report on the final assessments of Moby Max and Star 360 for all the grade levels. The board approved renewal for MSBA membership. The board reviewed the student handbook proposed changes. Mr. Dern reviewed the summer projects of the new roof installation and sealcoating of the new track with striping and their progress. The board approved a proposal for a window screen product for the front windows and entry doors that adds to school safety and to the aesthetic appearance of the building. The board approved the renewal of the accounting software system SUI. The date of June 24th at 12 pm was set for the acceptance of bids for Milk, Diesel and Trash followed by Dr. Perkins and Mr. Dern presenting their administrative reports.
The next regular scheduled board meeting was set for June 25th at 12 pm in the library before adjourning to closed session followed by adjourning the meeting.
